Do I Need a Planning Permit?

Planning permit requirements depend on the size of your build and the regulations governing your property. We recommend consulting your local council using the plans and information provided in this Starter Pack.

For a detailed analysis of your property’s planning framework, we offer an Additional Design Service to assess compliance and confirm whether a planning permit is required. If needed, Shed Homes WA can prepare your application and manage the process on your behalf.

Do I Need a Building Permit?

All housing projects in Australia require a building permit issued by local shire before construction begins.

If you prefer assistance, Shed Homes WA offers a Building Permit Management service to handle this process for you.

Design and Engineering Compliance

Our homes are designed to comply with Australia’s National Construction Code (NCC) 2022, achieving the required minimum 7-star energy rating. Should your property require adjustments to meet compliance, we provide solutions such as upgraded glazing, lighter external cladding, additional shading devices, or enhanced insulation.

Key Engineering Parameters:

  • Designed for Class 1a residential buildings under NCC 2022.
  • Supports wind ratings for Regions A & B and includes capacity for solar panels.
  • Engineered for Class A, S, M, and H1 soil conditions (custom engineering available for more complex soil classifications).

For bushfire-prone areas, our designs can achieve compliance up to BAL29 standards, ensuring your home is safe and secure in extreme conditions.
